Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We may process:

• Messages, links, or content you submit to the bot
• Generated analysis outputs
• Basic usage metadata (timestamps, plan type)

We do not collect sensitive personal information intentionally.

2. Data retention

• Your chats with the bot (your messages and its replies) are stored for up to 24 hours so it can follow the conversation, then automatically deleted.
• Videos you send are downloaded only to run the check and are deleted as soon as it finishes.
• To answer repeat requests quickly, the check of a reel may be cached for up to an hour. A check that includes your own question or note is never cached or shared with anyone else.
• Checks of public posts may be kept longer and published, as described in section 3.
• A usage record (your Instagram-scoped account ID, when you first messaged us, which ad brought you if any, and the date, type and verdict of each check or chat) is kept to count usage and measure our ads. It never includes your messages or the videos you send. Individual activity entries are deleted after 90 days.

3. Published checks

When you send us a public reel or post, the check we write about it (the verdict, the explanation, the sources, and a link to the public post) may be published on our website at realitycheck.wtf/r, so that other people who see the same post can find it. When someone tags @realitycheckbot under a public post, the bot may also reply there with the check.

• Published checks never include who sent the post: no username, no account ID, nothing that identifies you.
• If you add your own question or note when you send a post, that check is never published. It stays between you and the bot.
• Published checks are kept for up to 12 months.
• Anyone, including the creator of the post, can request removal using the link on the check's page, or by emailing support@realitycheck.wtf. Removal takes effect immediately and the post is not published again.

4. Use of data

We use your data solely to:

• Generate responses
• Maintain service reliability
• Improve user experience

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

5. AI providers and model training

• We use paid AI services from third-party providers.
• We do not use your content to train our own models.
• Paid AI providers state that customer content is not used to improve or train their models.
• Data is processed only to generate your requested analysis and handled according to provider privacy policies.

6. Cookies and analytics

• We may use minimal analytics or cookies to understand site usage.
• No tracking is used for advertising purposes.

7. Security

• We take reasonable measures to protect your data.
• However, no system is completely secure, and use of the Service is at your own risk.

8. Your rights

• Depending on your location, you may have rights to access or delete your data.
• Your chats are automatically deleted within 24 hours, so long-term storage requests typically do not apply to them.
• Published checks contain no personal information about who requested them. To have one removed, use the link on its page or email us.
• To delete everything we hold about you (usage records, plan and billing link), email support@realitycheck.wtf with your Instagram username. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use means acceptance of the updated policy.
