Checked reel · 18 Oct 2026
While the historical dates and names like Fed Chair Kevin Warsh are real, comparing today to Black Monday based on calendar coincidences is sensationalism meant to push livestream views. Modern markets have strict circuit breakers created specifically after the 1987 crash. If the S&P 500 drops 7% or 13%, trading halts automatically for 15 minutes, and a 20% drop closes the market for the rest of the day. An unchecked 22% single day drop like 1987 cannot legally happen in that same way today. Matching calendar dates and news headlines happens constantly. Market trends are driven by economic fundamentals, not date anniversaries.
