The video gives a clean, accurate summary of one of the most famous geometry problems in math. Soichi Kakeya posed the question in 1917, Besicovitch proved in 1928 that you can turn a needle in 2D using an arbitrarily small area, and in 2025 Hong Wang and Joshua Zahl solved the 3D version. Wang received the Fields Medal in Philadelphia in July 2026 for her groundbreaking work.
